During the event ‘Biodiversity Day by Babul ngo’ on Tuesday 22nd May 2018 held at the Oasis School, Shaikpet organized by Babul Films Society NGO,  Acharya Sanjeeva Kumar of Sanskrita Bharati told that Environment and Biodiversity find important place in the Indian ancient culture and tradition. He was the Chief Guest of the event. He mentioned that the rulers of India in the ancient past took many steps to promote Environment and protect Biodiversity. There is an urgent need to fight collectively to save the many species that are facing the threat of extinction, he added. Humanity is in danger due to the unabated increase in the pollution. He released a mini booklet in Sanskrit and Telugu on this occasion along with Gangadhar Panday President of Babul Films Society. Mr. Panday explained that this year CBD [Convention on Biological Diversity] is celebrating 25 years of Action for Biodiversity and the theme for 2018 is Beat Plastic Pollution. He described the harm that plastics are causing to biodiversity and encouraged people to Reject, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle plastics. Ms. Shiming Wang from China and Mr. Derek Tan of Singapore who are doing an internship with Babul ngo also participated in the event.
