AIESEC is a not for profit organisation. By virtue of us being non-political and independent, we also do not get any external funding. The exchange programme fees ensures that this organisation is kept sustainable, while providing youths with the best leadership experience possible.
The $600 does not cover flight ticket, VISA and additional insurance. Travel Insurance may or may not be provided for depending on your university.
This additional fee is to cover other costs such as SIM card, accomodation and other logistics. However, the things covered by the additional fee may differ from project to project, thus do check with our AIESECers to clarify!
Depends on the project. Do check the opportunity page and look for the section on “Logistics”. Covered means it’s free, provided means it’s sourced for but you will have to pay for it.

Yes, it is stated in the Exchange Contract that “the Exchange Participant is allowed to break acceptance and terminate the contract prior to its date of expiry if the area where the exchange is based in is formally declared to be in a state of emergency due to war, natural disasters, people revolution and terrorist attacks”.

We highly recommend visiting countries with VTL arrangements in Singapore, such as Turkey, Spain, Canada.
