People, Not Jobs: Youth and the Future of Work

Future Of Work

How can companies attract the Workforce of the Future and become a top employer for young people today?

The ‘Future of Work’ focuses on two main questions – “How we work?” and “How we think about work?”

YSF 2020 focuses on the Workforce of the Future –
1. What do future employees look for in an employer?
2. What type of working environment and arrangement attracts them?
3. How can companies upgrade their talent acquisition and retention strategies, while at the same time develop their employees effectively and efficiently?

The workforce of the future require companies to be agile and flexible, as well as emphasise on the social purpose of the company more than profits alone.

Role of Youth

How can young Singaporeans be engaged to make a difference?

Young people are on the cusp of the workforce – with a workplace that is changing and diversifying so rapidly, youths find themselves having to constantly re-invent themselves to stay competitive.

At the same time, young people are also at the forefront of the technological revolution, given their tech-savviness.

Singapore’s government has re-focused the emphasis on young people – youths are to be actively engaged to create a roadmap for Singapore in 2025, and what they want to see in our society.
